The VP Gallery is proud to present “A Photographer's View,” a collection of black and white photographs from LIFE Magazine featuring the work of John Dominis.
As a LIFE photographer, John Dominis traveled the globe to chronicle, through the art of photography, every aspect of the human condition. From the tumult of battle to the glamour of movie stars, his works offer a visual history of American photojournalism. Photographs to be included in the show are: “Steve McQueen in Sulphur Bath, 1963,” “Frank Sinatra and Jackie Gleason, 1965,” and “Mickey Mantle Having a Bad Day, 1965.”
The LIFE Picture Collection represents some of the most recognized and historical images of the 20th century that continue to influence us generations later. Other LIFE Magazine photographers to be on display at The VP Gallery include: Margaret Bourke-White, Alfred Eisenstaedt, Martha Holmes, John Loengard, Leonard McCombe, and Ralph Morse.
These photographs are all hand-signed by the photographer and printed one-at-a-time from negatives housed in the archives of LIFE Magazine. This exhibition includes iconic moments in history as well as realities of everyday life. |
